If you’re envisioning celebrating your wedding day at a venue that combines beautiful classic style together with cool modern flair, the space you need to consider is the Piedmont Room. It’s located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, which is spot that’s always a treat for couples and guests. Plus, Piedmont Park is just a few steps beyond the venue’s front doors, which often serves as a wonderful, light-filled spot to capture portraits. While Erica and Lesley were planning their wedding day, they saw all of the allure of this space (and more!).
Erica and Lesley wanted to invite their guests to one location for their ceremony and reception, which is always something I highly recommend. Celebrating in one space makes the logistics much more simplified for everyone, and it also means you have more time to spend with your loved ones. When they stepped inside the main ballroom inside the Piedmont Room, they both loved its modern feel. So, not only did they host their ceremony and reception at the same venue, but they also celebrated both moments in the same room (with a quick flip in between)!
Before they walked down the aisle, they spent their mornings getting ready. Then it was time to capture family portraits at their venue, and I love that they chose to have these moments photographed in front of their circular ceremony arch. Of course, Erica and Lesley alsohas couples’ portraits taken outside in the park before it was time to recite their vows.
The main ballroom at the Piedmont Room experiences so much natural light, and the sun poured inside throughout Erica and Lesley’s ceremony. It offered a glowing backdrop behind the pair’s floral circular ceremony arch that we designed, and I loved the result! I also loved how Erica and Lesley each walked down the aisle solo, and I have to note how unique and fun it was to see the members of the bridal party wearing a modern take on a navy suit.
After Erica and Lesley were officially pronounced as a married pair, they rejoined their guests ready to celebrate during cocktail hour. During this time, we transformed the ballroom into a reception space complete with round tables with lush, garden-inspired blush and ivory blooms. We also reused the ceremony arch as a sweetheart table backdrop because it made too beautiful of a statement for it to only be seen and enjoyed during the ceremony.
Once back inside the ballroom, guests enjoyed a menu created by the Piedmont Room, along with fun introductions and heartfelt speeches. As with other weddings, the dance floor was the highlight of the night thanks to the Emerald Empire Band who kept everyone dancing for hours.
It was an honor and a joy to plan and design Erica and Lesley’s wedding day, and it was especially wonderful to work with the team at the Piedmont Room. I always love returning to this fantastic Atlanta venue, and I can’t wait to go back once more.
