I loved working with Rachel and Oscar on their October wedding! The fall season is one of the best to get married in Atlanta, GA, in my option! The weather is quite temperate, which opens up the possibilities for outdoor weddings. Plus, I’m a sucker for a gorgeous fall color palette!
Magnolia leaves played a big part in the design too. It was modern with southern touches! From the honey jar favors to the clean, classic monogram choice to the Mariachi Band, we could feel bits and pieces of their relationship and personality at every stage!
Q: How did you first meet? – Como se conocieron?
Rachel: When Oscar and I met, it was anything but love at first sight. I met him, not once, not twice, but THREE times before he remembered me! I was less than enthused to be his team lead for the peer adviser program we were involved in and I did not try to hide it. It wasn’t until months later, after getting to know Oscar, that he asked me to be his formal date. What was supposed to be one date, turned in to 7 years of adventures.
Oscar: Birds fly, fish swim, dogs bark, and I am awful at remembering names. When I first committed Rachel’s name to memory, she was my boss and already knew my name. Talk about an overachiever! She was less than enthused that I did not remember her name, however she quickly came to realize my many merits and I hers. We went on a series of dates and adventure spanning two continents and seven years, and now we are tying the knot after seven short years.”
Following the couple’s ceremony, was their tented reception. The Millennium Gate Museum has a gorgeous view of midtown Atlanta. Overlooking the outdoor reception space, there is The Commons- a a beautiful lake with fountain. They’ve done a great job of making the area feel like a private oasis nestled in the city!
The reception was so much fun- the mariachi band kicked off the festivities! Everyone wanted to get to the party, so dining was the first order of business so guests could get on the dance floor.
Rachel’s brother, Jack, stepped behind the booth for just a bit to help get the party started! Rachel and Jack are really close, so he was a big part of the day. It was so sweet watching them interact through the day and celebrate his sister’s union to Oscar (he loves Oscar too!).
Rachel’s favorite thing about Oscar? “I love Oscar’s goofy sense of humor, his never ending quest for knowledge, and the way he can make the perfect cup of coffee.”
Oscar’s favorite thing about Rachel? “I love Rachel’s intelligence and quick wit! She’s also incredibly kind and a good looker too.”
