Alana + Augusto’s Winter Wedding at The Wimbish House

One of the things I love the most about Atlanta is it’s as easy to host a sophisticated soiree at a historic venue as it is to welcome guests to a bright and colorful garden. And both provide such a unique experience to our city. Alana and Augusto wanted to embrace grandeur on their wedding day, and the result was whimsical and fun and classic all wrapped up into one great celebration. As you can probably tell, I can’t wait to share more with you!
When Alana and Augusto were deciding where to celebrate their wedding day, they were drawn to the elegance of The Wimbish House. The space is a mansion located in the heart of the city, and as you would expect there’s plenty of history, beautiful natural light, and expansive spaces for ceremonies and receptions. It was such a perfect choice for them!
As you can imagine, with such a great space at hand, Alana and Augusto chose to recite their vows and celebrate in the same location. Plus, it offered a great canvas for wedding party, family, and couple’s portraits! Because the venue is so stunning, it’s more about adding accents to the décor than fully transforming the space. For this task, Alana and Augusto looked to Carla from On Location of Atlanta to add pops of color and plenty of lilies throughout.
Guests dined on a menu created by Chef Cary’s Cuisine, danced the night away with music provided by DJ Dre 1800, and had a wonderful time in the middle of February. Also, yes, you can absolutely host a stunning and memorable wedding in the middle of the winter! In fact, it offers your guests a break from the chill and a fun opportunity to go out for a night on the town in your honor.
