There is a reason many fairytales feature a ballroom scene: there is just something about them that feels so grand, so special, so RIGHT! And while they aren’t for everyone, there are for many couples that seek something classic. However, “ballrooms” have come a long way- you can find modern, contemporary, traditional, industrial and many more styles to suite your vision. What many ballrooms have in common is the spacious quality they provide. Often with high ceilings, beautiful architectural details and an open floor plan, they’re a “blank slate” waiting to be transformed into your perfect wedding day!
I LOVE the Southern Exchange Ballrooms! MEP couple Hanna + Reese hosted their elegant, glamorous wedding here and it was a jaw-dropper! This tops the list for me if you’re searching for a sophisticated, timeless gathering.
“Designed by Philip Shutze, Atlanta’s famous classical architect, 200 Peachtree Street officially opened in 1927 as the Davison’s department store before becoming known as the iconic Macy’s. The main entrance on Peachtree featured a very stately marble-floored cosmetics and jewelry area, which is now the Whitehall Ballroom of Southern Exchange.“
