Rachel + Paul’s Montaluce Winery Wedding

Montaluce Winery located in Dahlonega, GA is a picturesque, secluded wedding venue is North Georgia that I absolutely love (how could I not, as a wine drinker)! I also love them because they’re an inclusive venue, which as you all know, is super important to me.

Rachel and Paul’s wedding was hosted in the late spring, on the Friday prior to Memorial Day, giving guests an excuse to enjoy an extra long weekend in Georgia. It’s hard to deny the breath of fresh air a countryside venue provides. Away from the hustle & bustle of Atlanta’s city center, but close enough to easily access via car.

Although you can easily accommodate up to 200 at Montaluce Winery, Rachel and Paul hosted a much more intimate gathering of under 100.

As the wedding party made their way down the aisle to “Just Say Yes” by Snow Patrol, the warm breeze rustled through the grape vines and the clouds provided just enough cover.

Planning advice: Rachel & Paul were very specific with their music choices. The selected their ceremony songs, as well as cocktail hour and reception must-haves. In addition, they had a “do not play” list. In this case, the couple had a band, so providing this list was required (so they knew what to play via speaker [vs live] during the most important moments).

IF you were to have a DJ only, proving this list allows them to utilize their creativity during the in-between moments. While some DJs will find this restrictive, others will appreciate knowing exactly what you like, so they can exceed your expectations during the “middle moments.” Communication with your vendors is key, so start early, during the vetting process, to find someone who you work well with (or let us do it for you!).

Their decor goal was to be in sync with the venue’s natural beauty and the rustic elegance of a winery as a whole. Subtle pops of blue were the perfect amount of color for an otherwise nature-inspired event.
